Colleges of the Fenway

The Colleges of the Fenway (COF) is a collaboration of six Boston-based colleges located in the historic Fenway neighborhood. Committed to providing students with the largest array of academic, artistic, and social experiences possible, the COF facilitates cross registration, intramural sports, performing arts groups, studying abroad, and an array of exciting events for the community.
Each affiliated college provides a unique, yet exceptional academic experience. Through the COF consortium, students enrolled at these institutions reap the benefits of a small college while having access to the resources of a large university.
Collectively, the colleges represent more than 12,000 undergraduate students (comprising 16.2% of the total Boston population of undergraduates), and approximately 700 full-time faculty members.

Fenway Card

The Fenway Card is the official identification card of the six member colleges of the COF. Issued to all students, faculty, and staff, the Fenway Card is required for identification and access to essential campus services. It also offers a convenient account, called “Fenway Cash," for making cashless purchases at all six colleges and at select businesses around the Fenway. Cross Register

The hallmark of the six-college consortium, cross-registration enables students to take courses that may not be offered at their home institution, in addition to the chance to create unique academic minors. More than 2,300 cross-registration courses are available, and since the consortium’s inception approximately 100 COF members cross-register each year.

Intramurals

For all COF members, intramurals are the perfect way to stay active. Whether you were a former high school or college athlete, or just want to try your hand at a new sport, intramurals have something for everyone. COF leagues provide competition in an array of traditional and non-traditional sports. Participants create teams with their friends or residence hall community and the COF provides the leagues, space, officials, and equipment. It’s free to play, and teams are encouraged to incorporate players from across the six colleges.

Performing Arts

Improvise a soaring jazz solo, conduct a symphony, discover some new dance moves, or try your hand at directing. Join the orchestra, chorus, dance ensemble, theater troupe or jazz band, all part of the COF performing arts program. Whether student, faculty, or staff, you can find an opportunity to explore an interest or improve advanced skills. You can also minor in performing arts through an academic program that integrates performing experience with classroom studies.

Studying Abroad

College is your chance to explore the world, and the COF Global Education Opportunities (GEO) Center works directly with the six college to help you find the perfect study, internship, or co-op abroad program. Can't fit an entire semester abroad into your academic plan? The six colleges of the COF offer many short-term travel courses, which are on campus, semester-long courses with a short-term travel component.

Set amid the historic Fenway neighborhood of America’s “Best College Town,” the COF community is bustling with the activity of students, faculty, and staff from around the six colleges. The atmosphere is warm and inclusive, but most of all, exciting. There’s never a dull moment for a member of the COF, as events occur on a daily basis on any of the six campuses, or throughout the city of Boston. From comedy shows at Simmons, to movie screenings at Wentworth, to free admission to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, to a COF-led trip to NYC, it’s hard to be bored when you’re part of the COF community.
